Pastry lovers beware – our range of cakes and pastries from Cacao Bean are out of this world. The company was set up by German-born Silke Bruening, who trained and worked as a pastry chef for a number of years in some of London’s most exclusive hotels. Following her dream of opening up her own ‘Konditorei’, German pastry shop and cafe, Silke arrived in Moreton-in-Marsh and Cacao Bean was born. Her team of pastry chefs get to work at 6am making fresh pastries daily, using ingredients sourced from local suppliers where possible.
You can find all sorts of yummy things from Cacao Bean on our fresh deli counter, such as creamy chocolate eclairs, squidgy brownies without nuts and bags of Viennese whirls and pangani, an Italian shortbread with nuts. Cakes include all types of gateaux and a triple chocolate chip loaf cake – a dense dark chocolate cake with milk chocolate sprinkles, finished off with a white chocolate topping. Also look out for seasonal frangipan tarts, sold whole or by the slice, with delicious fillings such as plum, rhubarb, pear and apple.
