Donate Your Bike For Charity
We have taken the term 'recycling' to another level with our involvement in a new project that restores and sends bikes to Africa. Old bikes, which can be donated via our Moreton-in-Marsh store, are sent to Gloucester Prison where they are restored by inmates, before being shipped off to Gambia, to be used by medical workers and teachers, some of whom have to travel long distances to do their work. The scheme is spearheaded by Reverand Graham Humphries of St Peter & Paul Church in Blockley and has proved such a success, that there are plans to send bikes to Tanzania and Zimbabwe too. "The bicycles will be a lifeline to people in Gambia," he said, "and I urge anyone who has a bicycle they do not need or use anymore to bring their bikes to donate to the scheme." If you would like to get involved, please drop your old bike off at our Moreton-in-Marsh store.
