I have been using Budgens for a very long time and as a farmers wife I am delighted to see all the local produce you readily sell, as I always buy British food.

I should like to make a suggestion. Perhaps it would be an idea to fit some kind of guttering to the canopy at the front of your Moreton store. Often people get more drenched by the run-off when walking under that than the rain itself when walking across the car park.

Thank you for your comment-it is a good one! We will look into the gutter issue and get something sorted.

I wonder if you will be moving to ordering on line?

I would personally love to offer our full range online. Whilst I think it will be some time however before this proves completely possible, we are looking at a 'Quick Shop' range online in the coming months. Interest from people like yourself gives us even more of an incentive to do something. Thank you for getting in touch. Kind Regards, Guy

Why are there always such queues at the tills in Broadway Budgens? The place seems to be run by teenagers at the weekends, there never seems to be any management or team leadership on Sats/Suns.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. I am very concerned about your experience because a member of management is scheduled to be on at all times. I have highlighted the issue to the store manager with the view of reolving any issues we may have. Kind Regards, Guy.

Not a comment - although I do now think Budgens is a great place to shop now.
I know you do support lots of local charities and I was wondering if you would sponsor a "frog race" (not real frogs) at our local village hall event to raise money for better insulation in Broadwell Village hall.
We are looking for £25 a race for which we will advertise your name in our programme for the night.

We would be delighted to sponsor a 'Frog Race' for such a good local cause and it will be a first for us as a business!! A member of the Moreton store management team will be in touch with you to arrange the details. Kind Regards, Guy

I have just re-registerd for the Taste Club, as I have never received any notices, but it tells me that I am already a member. Please confirm. I do almost all my shopping at your Moreton store - very good service and produce. I really appreciate you trying to keep goods British at least, local at best.

Can you please supply a GI loaf. Drapers in Bredon bake a beauty.
I know that they are not your suppliers, but the loaf is so digestable and tasty, it is healthy for all.

Thank you for your e mail. I have reviewed our range of GI bread and can clearly see we need to improve our offer. To that end, we plan to stock both a pre-pack and artisan loaf from our local baker, Bread and Co. Kind Regards, Guy

I wish to complain about the range of cheeses and cooked meats on sale at the ‘Deli’ counter in your Bidford store. In particular the withdrawal of Denhay cheddar, (an extremely tasty genuine farmhouse cheddar in a modest price range). Others, eg Fowlers, Clothiers, are not even vaguely comparable. Also Wensleydale with apricots/ginger has disappeared. Neither Edam nor Gouda is available any longer.
The range of cooked meats now available is also disappointing – several types of ham, expensive cuts of turkey and pork but no longer salami, garlic sausage, less expensive cuts of turkey or Gala pork pie by the slice.
Please note I am only interested in chesses and cooked meats from the ‘Deli’ counter – not pre-packed varieties.

Thank you for your message. Apologies for the delay in responding to you, but I have been away and only returned to work today.
Having spoken to the manager at our Bidford store, I am pleased to tell you that Denhay Cheddar, Wensleydale Apricot, Edam and Gouda will be reintroduced to our deli cheese range.
With regards to the cooked meats, I have also requested that we re-stock the salami, garlic sausage and Gala pie you mentioned. We took the decision to delist the previous turkey product we stocked to enable us to champion a local alternative which I would like to continue to do. I personally believe it is also a far better product.
Thank you again for your comments, I really do appreciate you taking the time to get in touch.
Kind Regards, Guy

Guy,
Congratulations on a fine store, but please drop 'Budgens' out of the name, it's synonymous with an old downmarket brand. Can I suggest you open a store in Shipston-on-Stour, the Somerfield site will become available after the takeover and would make an excellent site for a small upmarket store like yours. Shipston has just been voted the 7th best country town in Britain and is full of high quality niche shops. Again, well done on a great job, we look forward to our next visit.

Dear Mr Hunt,
Thank you for your kind words - your comments are really encouraging to hear and I have passed them on to the team. I have noted your comments about Shipston and am pleased to tell you that we are currently looking for an opportunity in the town if indeed one were to arise.
Kind Regards, Guy

I was interested in your Taste Club and decided to join. On filling in the form on line it would not accept my entry as I had not entered a mobile phone number. I DO NOT HAVE a mobile phone does this exclude me from entering the Club ????
