This much-love bakery, located in Winchcombe’s North Street, was originally established by Ray North and his wife Anita. Ray came from a family of bakers in Gwent but decided to open his own bakery in the Cotswolds in 1967. Today North’s is run by Dan Seagrove, who has been a baker at North’s for over 20 years, and his wife Roxanne.
Dan still follows traditional methods and recipes, employing artisan craftsmen and using top quality ingredients to make mouth-watering breads and patisseries. There are no artificial preservatives or additives in the breads, which include favourites such as stoneground wholemeal and traditional white, as well as more inventive loaves such as raisin and sourdough.
Cakes and patisseries are a big part of North’s Bakery and we stock a tempting range in our Moreton-in-Marsh store. These include Viennese whirls, Chelsea buns, caramel shortbread and gingerbread men as well as lots of exciting seasonal treats at different times of the year.
