Winchcombe Country Show!
The traditionally hot weather expected for an August Bank Holiday, didn’t quite deliver this year, but it still brought out plenty of visitors to the 69th Winchcombe Country Show held in the grounds of Winchcombe Senior School. Warner’s Budgens were really proud to sponsor the show yet again in our third year in the town.
The show promised a whole plethora of traditional country entertainment featuring vintage tractors, dog displays, local produce and the eagerly-anticipated annual flower show, together with a thrilling performance from Parkour Live.
In traditional fashion, 50 trophies were up for grabs on the day, judging everything from the best brownie to the biggest vegetables, with visitors of all abilities encouraged to compete in the friendly affair.
Visitors to the Warner’s Budgens stand were treated to samples of the award winning Cotswolds Dry Gin from The Cotswolds Distillery based in Stourton, topped up with Fever-Tree tonic and slice of lime and pink grapefruit making the perfect gin and tonic! There were also mouth-watering cheeses from our local suppliers Fowlers of Earlswood and Simon Weaver Organic Brie of Upper Slaughter, accompanied by Peter’s Yard Sourdough crispbreads and a spoonful of Kit's Kitchen Apple & Onion Chutney – a marriage made in heaven!
All the products sampled are available to purchase from all Warner’s Budgens stores.
